Sydney Burke was born in Harrises in the parish of St. Lucy. Ms. Burke worked in her earlier years as a labourer at Mount Gay Plantation and later move on to become an astute entrepreneur plying her delicacies to the children of the St. Lucy’s School for many years.
This matriarch gave birth to seven children, six of them are still alive. She is a grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother of many.
