Alicia Waithe worked as a domestic in private homes in St. Philip and St. John. Born in Clifden Hill, St. Philip, Mrs. Waithe was educated at St. Philip’s Girls’ School.
Alicia was the mother of seven, three deceased. She married Charles Waithe, who predeceased her in 2001 and had seven children, three deceased. They also had 20 grandchildren, 34 great grands and 12 great-great grands.
She was an active member of Brother Wharton’s Hall, now called Mount Moriah Church of God in Christ, Church, Church Village, St. Philip.
When not working as a domestic, the couple reared livestock to sustain their family.
She was still alert and held a conversation occasionally with family and friends. Alicia enjoyed fish cakes and cake.
Mrs. Waithe was also a patient at the St. Michael Geriatric Hospital before she passed away.
