Ismay Weekes was the mother of six children, three of whom are still alive.  One with a sharp memory, she remembered the birthdays of all 19 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 45 great-great grandchildren.

Daughter Erma Rivers described her mother as “kind, caring and hardworking.”

Granddaughter Valerie Workman recalled the deep conversations her grandmother would have with all those who would listen.  She also imparted advice about how to save money and about life.

She also remembered her grandmother as a flashy dresser. “She was quite the dresser in her time.   I used to borrow a lot of her earrings and necklaces to wear out.”

The centenarian attended the St Christopher’s Anglican Church.
