Iona Gaskin was born in Lower Burney, St. Michael and worked as a shop assistant and laundry worker along with working as a domestic.
She emigrated to Canada, where she was an active supporter of the Caribbean Associations there. She now resides in Rural Cot, Mapp Hill, St. Michael
Ms. Gaskin, who loved to bake and sing her favourite songs, was a mother of eight children, four deceased.
