Erie Carnetta Forde (nee Harris) attended the St. Martins, Four Road Primary School, in St. Philip. In 1955, she emigrated to England, travelling on board the ship “Surianta”, a journey which took three weeks. While there, she entered the field of nursing.
In 1972, she travelled to Canada to continue her nursing career, and lived there until her retirement in 1990, at which time she returned to Barbados.
