Marielot Coppin grew up in St. Matthias Christ Church, and attended St. Matthias Girls’ School.
Ms. Coppin worked as a domestic until the age of 80. Nephew Jeffrey Coppin recalled his aunt as one who was peaceful, kept to herself and got along with everyone.
Jeffrey said his aunt was quite active in her younger days. “She used to walk from Dayrells Road to People’s Cathedral and walk to her job in Belleville in the morning, go back home for lunch, and walk to work again.”
Marielot was not married and had no children.
