Olga Boyce was born in Parris Village, St. Joseph.  She was a pupil of St. Joseph’s Girls’ School.

Like many girls in her era, Olga worked as a domestic in private homes across Barbados until she retired.

Ms. Boyce was never married but had two children, both deceased.

Olga had a strong faith in God and was a long-standing worshipper at St. Barnabas Anglican Church and sang in the choir.  She was also a member of the Mothers’ Union.

Now warded at the St. Michael Geriatric Hospital, Olga still has a sharp wit which erupts peals of laughter from her friends and relatives who visit her.

Niece Goldine Herbert described her aunt as “a very sweet person and a joy to be around”.

She has several grand-children, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
